Shucks

By Adam Blue | February 29, 2008

So today I woke up, slapped on some torn up jeans, and threw on my work-out shirt to go get a hair cut. I get the cut, start heading home, then realize I need to stop for some razors. I go into Tom Thumb as quickly as possible. Here’s the thing. When I go out, I like looking nice just incase I run into a hot girl. But I just got my haircut, so I have hair folicles everywhere, it’s half-wet, and I’m dressed like a homeless person. So as I’m walking to the razors, what do I see? Probably one of the hottest girls ever. So I go, “fuck”. She’s fumbling with the razors because apparently now they are in some odd contraption in which you have to turn a dial and open a drawer to get them. Yeah.

So I walk over there…looking to the side, trying not to make eye contact. I say, ‘Wow..that looks scary…I wouldn’t even know what to do’. And she says something like ‘yeah’, or…something, but I think she giggled so that’s good. Anyway, I tell her I’d give it a shot, and all I really did was open the drawer and get it…yeah I don’t know why it worked like that, but ANYWAY…the entire time I’m looking away. I can’t let her see me like this. Then she turns to walk away, and that was just as good.

But, if I had been dressed up, like in my suit, it would have been on.

But then I started thinking…she was buying a men’s razor too. So unless girls like Gillette Power Fusion or she’s just helping out her dad…she’s probably taken. Which wouldn’t be so bad except she’s going out of her way to do something for her man so it’s probably serious.

Either way, it’s always best to look nice.

Saturday Night

By Adam Blue | February 24, 2008

I was still out of it from the night before. So, I woke up grabbed some clothes and went to work. While at work, I realized I brought some crappy clothes to go out with…but I figured, ‘wth’. I was supposed to meet up with some other people, but they decided not to go out. That always sucks. So, I went to City Streets which I hope was really the last time I go there. I’ve just grown out of it. But I did run into a few people.

One dude spilled his drink in my lap. I stood there looking down at my lap, and he was looking my way obviously in shock. I just lift my head and look up at him. He apologized, but I told him it’s impossible to apologize for that. What he should have done was grab some napkins for me, but he didn’t. I was standing behind a ‘bar-type thing’, so I told him, “Looks like I’ll standing here for the rest of the night.”

But after 20 minutes, my lap was clear. This was good because there were a few girls interested at that point which now meant I could move around. I went to the bar to get another beer, and that clumsy dude was there and said he’d buy me a drink…then walked off. That didn’t make any sense.

Then Jacob showed up, but there was only 30 minutes left, so not much for him to do. It was still a fun night though, but I don’t want to go back. I really want to go to Shade.

Busy.

By Adam Blue | February 15, 2008

I’ll be working 12 hours tomorrow. After that, I’m going to Dallas, or wherever Jason and the crazy Polish girls might be. Then, noon the next day I have the Immortal Machines Podcast to do, then right after that the Bluegamer Bluecast. During the Bluecast, Jose is bringing over his woman friend which is bad because I cannot have a girl in my room when it’s messy. And it’s messy.

Where’s a DeLorean when you need one.

I’m Not Joking

By Adam Blue | February 14, 2008

I decided to finally get my act together and start a band. My little bro and sis will be dual guitaring, I’ll be drumming, and I know I’ll have Jacob for bass.

The plan is in the next month or so I’ll be parking my truck outside to keep the band equipment in the garage, set-up to play. I’ll go pick up my bro and sis, and we’ll jam. They’re supposed to have guitar lessons…

But, my Dad got laid off. He could get something new any second, but I’m just thinking about how Sean and Heather will do. It’s bugging me pretty bad. I don’t want their lives to change at all.

But with all the experience my Dad has, i don’t see why he wouldn’t find another job…so my worrying is probably for nothing.

I Thought I broke the Google!

By Adam Blue | February 13, 2008

I was doing my weekly check of my gaming blog, Bluegamer.net, through Google Analytics.

statsjpg.jpg

That’s insane. Now, the straight line at the bottom isn’t zero hits. It’s the normal 2-10 daily hits. The 9th was just so astronomical…

With these numbers, I think I can get some type of sponsorship. My first idea is to contact Nokia’s N-gage division, show them my numbers, and she if they went to send me stuff. That way, I review it, post it, they get exposure and I get free games.

Yippee!

City Streets…Yeah, I Know

By Adam Blue | February 9, 2008

A buddy at work was celebrating his last day…something I’m hoping to do soon. We all met up at the Fox & the Hound off Bryant Irvin, then decided to go meet up at…City Streets. It had been a long time. It felt like going back to an ex-girlfriend just to get laid. And not any ex-girlfriend, but the one that got ugly (that shouldn’t offend anyone, it was just a figure of speech).

I decided to test my N95’s video recording ability. The picture is good in low light settings, and blaring music seems to do great:

Then I met a girl. Not that I’m planning on getting serious with anyone anytime soon, but my point is below:

I now find out she has three kids and a boyfriend.

Ain’t that a bitch!

What I’m Doing With My N95

By Adam Blue | February 8, 2008

I installed an app called Joikulight that allows me to use my Nokia N95 as a wireless access point. That means I could play online PSP games from anywhere. I could even use the PSP to remote connect to my PS3 to access files on my computer. How amazing all this gadgetry is.

I ordered an 8GB microSD card, but the 16’s just came out…and the 32’s just around the corner. I’m loving this SSD insurgence.

I was also lucky enough to get a hold of a hacked ‘early access’ version of Nokia’s N-Gage software. If it wasn’t for the FCC’s restrictions on radio-equipped gadgets in the US, more Nokia handhelds would be used here, like the rest of the world, and the American’s which I primarily talk game with would understand my point: Nokia will change handheld gaming. I downloaded a program that lets me take screenshots of what’s going on on my phone. I’ll use this and post on my gaming blog the features incorporated within the new N-Gage service, and how it justifies my point.

I also found out I can use my phone to stream live video that I record. I’ll probably use it for a concert I’m going to in March, in which anyone can watch the bands play, and hopefully I can set up a program to record what’s going on.

What can this phone not do? They just came out with motion controls to play PC games and operate the mobile itself!

Rambo

By Adam Blue | January 26, 2008

As much as people make fun of the Rambo films for being mindless action, the character that Sylvester Stallone plays really has a lot of depth. Well, I could be stretching it, but I don’t think so. I saw the midnight showing of Rambo, which by the way, that theater in Keller plays new releases at midnight which is perfect. I get off work at 10, kill time until midnight to watch movies I don’t really have time for.

Anyway, back on track… This new Rambo film was great. The only problem with the whole thing was when it ended. I didn’t want it to end. But it does a great job of being the fourth movie. It incorporates the previous three films; the lessons Rambo has learned throughout and how he copes with it. I totally dug this movie.

I also watched Hostel II tonight. I liked what they did with it, but at the same time I didn’t really care for it. Very odd. I mean, I appreciate the direction it took, but I think deep down we just want to stick to the formula.
